Let the Adventure Begin!

Today was the big day! We said our good-byes, which was not as bad as I expected, and headed to the train station. We took the train to Chicago, another train to the airport, and a shuttle to the hotel. All we did was sit all day but I am really tired!

We had a bit of a change of plans last night. My mom and dad have been planning for months to watch the boys, and we have done a lot of trial runs over the last few months to get the boys used to staying with them. Yesterday my Mom called with some not-so-great news - my Dad has been having a lot of trouble with his eye and has had his retina detach several times, causing him to have to have numerous surgeries. At a doctors visit yesterday he was told that it had detached again :( Which meant he couldn't come with my Mom to watch the boys. Holy moly.

Here's the good news: my parents really trust God. As in, really, really trust Him, even when it's hard and life throws them a curve ball they didn't see coming. They didn't freak out, they calmly decided Mom would come by herself, and they trust God to help Mom with the kids and Dad with his eye.

To parents out there wondering how to teach your kids to follow God, this is how. Live it. So simple, yet missed by so many parents.

My Mom is thankfully not alone in watching our very active and fairly exhausting little boys :) My sisters are both close by and will help out a ton I know. Plus, Brad's parents are nearby and will be spending time with the boys too. I know they're in good hands and I don't need to worry.

One last thing - Mom, in case you're reading this (you know, in your "free time"!) - here is a picture just for Matthew :)

Our flight for Korea leaves tomorrow around lunch time. I can't believe it is here! I am having a blast with Brad and I can't wait to be in Korea!!!

Have a fantastic time. Enjoy every moment of your time in Korea. I cannot wait until we have the opportunity to go and meet Daniels birthmom (Did I tell you the random Open Adoption story and we email each other all the time now?) Email me when you get back and I'll explain...
Have an amazing trip!
