There's No Place Like Home...

My new year's resolution - to write on this blog more! Yes, I know, it's April...apparently I put off everything until the last minute!

It's always so good to go home :) A few weeks back, Brad and I were able to take a long weekend to visit my family. Favorite thing about being home: someone is always making a cup of tea, no matter what time of day (or night!). They are party animals - they stay up way past 10 o'clock! We had tons of fun shopping and watching Gilmore Girls (poor Brad - well, at least he got to watch a race instead of go shopping with the girls!). Also got a surprise phone call from my friend Melissa who I haven't talked to in eons :)

Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend:

Playing some pong ping - lots of laughter, not many points scored!

Dad and Sarah catching a few z's...how can she even breathe like that?!?!?!

The girls watching...the girls!

Aw...what a precious family :)

I cannot even comment on how crazy it is that Sarah is driving now...

Always good to see my long-lost friend, Dana, who drove in for the weekend from the Great White North...

What was this game called? I can't remember...but we had tons of fun playing it with Sue and Stan! Man, what is the name of that game...now that is going to bug me all night....

No, we didn't take Sadie with us this weekend (or ever for that matter - what are we, crazy?!) but I just had to put these pictures on because she is so CUTE!

Maybe next time I will write about all the amazing things we are learning from the dog whisperer show - we are finally able to get Sadie to not bark all the time! It's like a miracle!

Boogety Boogety Boogety - Let's Go Racing!

It is so much fun to have friends and family fill the house!
Every year I find this party less stressful and more fun.
Sue and Stan - thanks so much for coming! We love you guys!
Well, it's hard to believe it is already time for NASCAR races to start again. I must admit, I find myself a little more interested in it each season. Don't get excited, Brad...I said a LITTLE! This year the Daytona 500 was actually quite eventful - well, at least the end of it was! I could not believe it when I found myself yelling at the tv as Mark Martin and Kevin Harvick raced to the finish line. Like I even care!!! But I got caught up in the excitement of it all, I guess! I have officially decided to root for Kurt Bush with Brad. Now I just need a shirt to wear each week. I can promise you this...if you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be married to a race fan and that I would even be able to name some of the drivers...I would have laughed really hard and told you that you were CRAZY! Yes, life is full of surprises! But I wouldn't change it for anything. Hope you enjoy the pictures :)

Chuck and Lois - so cute!

A man and his man-wife...it's a beautiful thing!

Look how happy I am...this must have
been taken AFTER the race!!!

Hee Haw!

No, this is not our permanent new look (although Brad would give anything to be able to wear those overalls every day!) This is a picture of us at the Hee Haw Dinner our small group recently put on at church. We had SO much fun being hillbillies...for some of us it took more acting than for others! We cooked dinner for about 130 people and then we had a hilarious talent competition that made me laugh really hard. It was great to see people get into the spirit of the evening and to have fun with people that I often see only on Sunday mornings. It was a whole lot of fun, a whole lot of work, and a whole lot of plaid!!!

A New Hobby!

I am officially addicted to scrapbooking! I got some money for my birthday (thank you mom and dad Hunt!) and was able to buy some things to get started. As soon as I got home from Canada, I headed to JoAnn Fabrics, where I spent quite a while drooling over the paper and embellishments and other scrapbooking supplies. I decided to start by making a page about our Christmas...so here it is! Let me know what you think!

I love my mom!

I love my mom and I am so blessed to have her as my mom. She is always there for me, and I miss her more and more every day. She is so good to me - she just gives and gives and gives. In a couple of days I get to go "home" for Christmas and I can't wait! Tea, tea, and more tea is on the way! Thanks, mom, for being so good to me and for loving me so much. I don't know where or who I'd be without you. I hope that someday I will be the kind of mother you have been to me.
